Biography:-
Dr Shah Faesal was born in a far-flung village of Sogam in North Kashmir's Kupwara district, where insurgency raged in the 1990s since the area is close to the LoC. The young ex-filtrating the Valley into PoK for guns training used this as one of their main routes.
In 2002, terrorists assassinated his father, a teacher. The blow to his face that life dealt him at such a young age was this. Despite all of these catastrophes, Faesal finished both his MBBS and his Masters in Urdu. "I had only two choices," Dr. Faesal stated: "to be bogged down or to stand up and face the challenge."
Later, the encouragement of his well-wishers led him to join Hamdard Study Circle, where he provided exam coaching for the Civil Services. He was chosen in his 2010 attempt because of his diligence and tenacity.
"I felt that I could not have made a change by being at a hospital and wanted to work with the government," he stated in response to a question about why he did not pursue a career in medicine.
In the history of the Civil Services examination, Shah Faesal was the first Kashmiri selection. By his choice, he dispelled the notion of discrimination. Many of the state's young people who live nearby and are enmeshed in terrorism find inspiration in his choice. Shah Faesal turned out to be a poster child for Kashmir's youth.
At the age of just 27, Dr. Shah Faesal applied to the UPSC Civil Services on his first try in 2009. He passed the 2009 UPSC test, being the first Kashmiri to do so. He was born in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, on May 17, 1983. He completed his M.B.B.S. in medicine at the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science in Srinagar. Both of his parents, Ghulam Rasool Shah and Mubeena Shah, were government school teachers. When he was getting ready for his pre-medical exam in 2002, his father was slain by terrorists. He is currently employed with the Kashmir Valley's Bandipora district as a deputy commissioner.
He decided to take the optional subjects in public administration and Urdu literature for his IAS exam. Before entering the civil service, Shah Faesal wrote pieces for numerous newspapers. In essence, he was a physician. He is regarded by many Kashmiris as the "Poster Boy" of Indian bureaucracy.
