Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS)

 The UPSC civil services test results indicate that students who pass can pursue a career in the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), which falls under Group 'A'. The defense department's accounting operations fall under the purview of this service. The head of the Defense Accounts Department is the Controller General of Defense Accounts.

Functions (IDAS):-

1. For the Army, Air Force, Navy, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ordnance Factories, Canteen Stores Department, Border Road Organization, and other linked organizations, the primary responsibilities include financial advising, payment, internal auditing, and accounting.
2. The IDAS officers may be appointed to other federal organizations, ministries, or departments in addition to departmental appointments. As a part of the Indian Army's UN peacekeeping missions, they may also be sent abroad..

Training Tenure:-

The first training session at LBSNAA lasts for four months. The location of the upcoming training is CENTRAD in New Delhi. The National Academy of Defence Financial Management Institute in Pune will provide the candidates with their last training once they have finished their training at the National Institute of Financial Management in Faridabad. The training takes a total of twenty-four months to finish.
