Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (Civil) Services are together referred to as DANICS. The civil administration of these Union Territory portions is handled by DANICS personnel.
The Delhi government's Services Department handles DANICS officers stationed in Delhi's service-related issues.
Additionally, the Ministry of Home Affairs serves as the DANICS's cadre controlling body.
Direct hiring of DANICS officers occurs via the Civil Services Examination. DANICS officers' starting grade salary in PB-III is 5400 as on the date of their first appointment to the grade.
Roles and Responsibilities:-
- The majority of the officers in this service are stationed in Delhi.
- The Indian government provides the officials with excellent facilities.
- After a few years of service, they are promoted to IAS of AGMUT Cadre.
- In the management of UT governments, they are responsible for a wide range of tasks.
- They lead secure lives and have fulfilling personal lives.
Training period:-
The Union Territory Civil Service Directorate in Karkardooma, New Delhi, provides training for DANICS officers. The cops receive initial training for about two years. After that, they are initially assigned to the positions of Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDM) or Assistant Collector (District Administration, Delhi). They are promoted into Senior Grades (JAG-I, JAG-II/SAG) upon reaching seniority.
Following that, they are enrolled in the Indian Administrative Service's AGMUT cadre (IAS). The DANICS officers are deputed to work as deputy secretaries in several Delhi government ministries or as autonomous entities such as the MCD, NDMC, DDA, etc.
