A Mona Sreenivas, a 2005 batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the Haryana cadre, has been employed for the past few years as a director with the Election Commission of India. An alumna of Apeejay School, Faridabad, claims that her late father, Additional Sessions Judge N.L. Pruthi, had a significant effect on her decision to enlist in the Indian Air Force
Education:-
Her education was completed in the Apeejay Public School in Faridabad, Haryana. She excelled in her college's honors B.A. (Eng). At Delhi University, she also completed her M. Phil. in English literature. She is the family's youngest child; her two older sisters are married and work as lecturers in Delhi and Gurgaon.
She spent the previous three years as an English teacher at Maharaja Agrasen College in New Delhi. She is North Delhi's district magistrate. For personal reasons, her husband, A Sreenivas, an IAS officer from the 2004 batch, transferred from Telangana to Haryana as his parent cadre.
In 2005, Mona Pruthi passed his third attempt at the UPSC Civil Services exam. IAS Cadre from Haryana's 2005 batch is Mona Sreenivas.
On her second attempt in 2004, Ms. Pruthi was chosen to become an Indian Revenue Service Officer. Her father, the late Sh. N.L. Pruthi, was an Additional Sessions Judge in Faridabad. She took English literature and sociology as optional subjects in the Mains. Mona worked in the National Customs Excise and Narcotics Bureau in Sector-29 Faridabad as an under trainee for the IRS cadre. She lived here in sector 15-A and lost her father in March of 2006.
Pruthi, an English teacher at Delhi's Maharaja Agrasen College, says it's not too hard to go from William Shakespeare to IAS. "It requires a blend of reason, intelligence, and diligence," remarks Pruthi as she answers congrats on her cell phone.
"I believe that working in the civil services, regardless of your job profile, has a positive influence on people's lives. Granted, other services exist. Teaching involves raising a whole generation of students. But anything one performs in the public sector comes with a lot of responsibility.
