Biography:-

Nagarajan was born on 8th February 1979 in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Growing up in a district town, S Nagarajan considered the role of district collector to be highly esteemed. In addition, the challenging and intellectually stimulating nature of this line of work, along with the chance to empathise with and solve the issues faced by common people, inspired him to study for the UPSC civil services exam. His height of 190.50cm earned him the nickname "Bheem" from his pals. His weight is 89.48 kg approximately.

In Tirunelveli, his father N Sreenivasan was employed with BSNL as a Divisional Engineer (installation). His mother Vani was also employed by BSNL, serving as the deputy general manager's personal assistant. Sunderrajan, his brother, was employed as a chemical engineer. Known by his buddies as "Bheem," he stood six feet three inches tall. It was Nagarajan's fourth try at topping the IAS. He made it to the interview stage on his first try. Education:-

He completed his education in computer science with distinction at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, scoring 95.4% from 1994 to 1996. In essence, he is from Tamil Nadu. From Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in Rajasthan (1996–2000), he received his electrical and electronics engineering degree with a CGPA of 3.8.

In 2004, S Nagarajan passed the UPSC Civil Services on his fourth try.  He is presently working on a master's degree in public policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (2016–2018). At the moment, he is employed with Tamil Nadu's Theni district as district collector.

He chose geography and physics as his elective subjects on his first try. However, he later dropped physics and chose to take an optional paper in geography and sociology..


UPSC Topper Positing:-

He had a variety of positions in LBSNAA, including IAS Probationer from 2005 to 2006. Tamil Nadu, Sub Collector (2007-2008) and Mussoorie, Assistant Collector (2006-2007) Additional Director of Rural Development (2010-2011) and Additional Collector in Development (2008-2009) for Tamil Nadu District Collector, Tamil Nadu (2011–2012) Tamil Nadu's Vellore district collector, Kanyakumari, served as the state's director of e-governance from 2014 to 2016.
