Because of her scoliosis, she was not accepted for a posting. She brought a matter before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in 2012, and after four years of success, the Indian Revenue Service (C&CE) posted her as an Assistant Commissioner. Singhal took the civil service test in 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014. She was accepted into the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) on her first three attempts, but was accepted into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 2015.

She serves as the Department of Disability's brand ambassador for the Indian government's Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.[11] She is also a member of the Election Commission of India's National Panel for Accessible Elections and a brand ambassador for the Ministry of Women and Child Development and NITI Aayog.
