Bhawna Garg is the Kapurthala-born daughter of a junior engineer. She married an IAS officer named Ajoy Sharma. Both of them have backgrounds in engineering.



Education :-


Bhawna Garg graduated in 1998 with a B Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Additionally, she finished her master's degree in public policy in 2012 from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School in the United States.

Bhawna Garg, a 1998 batch IAS topper from Punjab and the highest ranking CSE graduate in 1998, was posted to the Department of Transport, Finance, and Culture in the Chandigarh administration.In essence, he is a Punjabi.From 1994 to 1998.Bhawna Garg is the Kapurthala-born daughter of a junior engineer. Bhawna received top place in the UPSC Civil Services Examination after passing it on her first try..

  1. She is the first woman to be ranked first out of 271,000 applicants for the All India Civil Services and to remain in that position following professional evaluation at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) from 1999 to 2001.
  2. In addition, she received a gold medal for excellence in extracurricular activities from 1999 to 2001 while doing professional training at the LBS National Academy of Administration.
  3. Ratan Swarup Memorial Prize for outstanding overall achievement in all subjects across all undergraduate study programs at IIT Kanpur in 1998's graduating class.
  4. First place in the 1994 open competitive Combined Entrance Test, which was required to gain admission to engineering universities.
