During her probation, Sabharwal received training in the Adilabad district after completing her administrative studies at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie in 2001.

Her first autonomous position allowed her to obtain practical experience in district administration and land revenue management as the Madanapally Sub Collector in Chittoor. After that, she was employed by DRDA, Kadapa, as a Project Director in the Rural Development department.

While serving as a Municipal Commissioner for Warangal, she launched the "Fund your City" initiative, which allowed for the creation of numerous public utilities through public-private partnerships (PPP), including traffic junctions, foot overbridges, bus stops, and parks. She later worked at Visakhapatnam as the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes.

Many health efforts, including "high risk pregnancy management targeting, IMR, and MMR" in the NRHM of the Government of India, adopted it as a model.   2. Karimnagar town had a makeover with the assistance of elected officials, including widened roads, carefully thought-out traffic signals, bus stops, restrooms, and other public amenities. According to PM's 20 Point Programme, Karimnagar district was named the best district for 2012–2013. She was successful in launching Voter Panduga, a programme to raise the percentage of voters.
  3. During the 2014 General Elections, she also held the position of District Collector for Medak, where she administered free and fair polls with great success and a large voter turnout.
